Folk music showcases featuring the vibrant music of Rajasthan at the festival have always drawn an appreciative audience, made up of travellers from India and all over the world. In 2018, Magnetic Fields takes the folk music stage, Puqaar, into the village on Saturday, to share the experience with the residents of Alsisar, who have embraced the festival with open arms.

The highlights of this year will definitely be the performance by maestro of the kettledrum or the nagada – a percussive folk instrument – Nathulal Ji Solanki, and singers and musicians Damara Ram and Hema Ram on the veena, who will also sing songs in praise of Kabir and Meera. Other performers include a collective that includes Bairam Khan on kamaicha, Kutle Khan on dholak, Dilawar Khan on khartal, Bhanwaru Khan on sarangi alongside Sawan Khan (Jaisalmer) who will sing Sufi vocals in Sindhi style and Dayaa Ram Bhaand, who perform in the popular Maand style of folk-classical music.
